I realize I’m making you wait. It’s post #3 and I’m rolling along not spilling any concrete ideas yet. I apologize.
I did share my most important secret already, though, and that is... awareness . Be tuned into your body. I hope I really drove that point home. If not… please reread my first two posts here and here..
There’s something I must address in this post, before I move forward in sharing concrete tips and ideas. ...disclaimers.
That is: I’m no expert. I hold no medical degree. But I do see my discernment and intuition as superpowers. You should as well. Give yourself and your body more credit than you do. I don’t believe that doctors trained in Western medicine hold the only body of helpful information about our health and well being. I think appropriate answers can be found in alternative and ancient practices, in nature, within ourselves, in addition to modern medical research. The key is discernment and finding the answers that work best for you in each situation.
The purpose of this post is to provide you with disclaimers about myself and about my advice. I am not formally or medically trained. What am I? I am choosy. And I actually put a lot of credibility in personal truth, personal beliefs and personal choice… especially my own. I realize what works for me and what doesn’t, so I only implement those choices that will lead me to be my BEST ME.
Now…. I fully realize that what works for me may not work for you. I’m going to restate and emphasize that:
What works for me isn’t always going to work for you.
That’s the point! Please… for the love of common sense and all that’s logical, please don’t, DON’T follow every tip, bit of advice and recommendation that I’m about to offer. In this blog I plan to simply refer you to the experts that my husband and I have been drawing knowledge from. I will only point you in the direction of the advice that has made a world of difference in our lives. That’s it. This research is not my own. I can’t take credit for the amazing work others have put their blood, sweat and tears into! On the other had, some quotes and advice will be my own. I will attach my name to these and take credit for them when I can :-)
I also need to pause and say... if it’s a canned program you’re looking to implement to full fidelity for 22 ½ days with high hopes of looking exactly like that Kelly girl who started some blog… please… change your expectations! Please.
Once you’ve changed your expectations, go back and read my previous two posts (here and here) and don’t continue on until you’ve gained the awareness I described and wish for you. Honestly... don’t bother listening to any of my advice until you become tuned in to YOURSELF. Ah ha! There it is: some good advice from Kelly:
Don’t tune in to Kelly’s advice until you tune in to your own body and soul.
Whew. Take that in for a bit.
Now I’ll close with the disclaimer I've included on my blog, because I will not be held liable for things that your common sense and intuition were probably already shouting at you. From the mountain top. With neon flashing lights. In their loudest voice.
*I am not a doctor or a licensed healthcare professional. The purpose of this blog is to share my journey and to help you along yours. Everything I write about on my blog will either be about my own personal experiences, my own advice, or will be pointing you in the direction of people and resources who are much more knowledgeable than I am (who I deem as credible and full of great advice). But use your own judgement. Be choosy. Be smart. Decide what works for you and your body. I will not be held liable for decisions you make regarding your own health, nutrition and exercise regimen.
Bottom line: Just because it works for me, doesn’t mean it will work for you. But that’s sure not going to stop me from sharing the things that work for me… in hopes that some of these things might help someone else… like you!
I am a wife, mom to two and teacher. I have a lot of things I'd like to go after in this lifetime!
